At the same time, tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the broader Middle East continue to escalate, placing Jerusalem once again at the center of global attention. The Temple Mount, already the most contested religious site on earth, sits at the crossroads of history, religion, and geopolitics.

Most observers are watching oil markets, military operations, and diplomatic responses. Students of Scripture are watching something else entirely. This is not simply another geopolitical development. It is a moment that touches one of the most prophetically significant locations on earth.

United States Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth made a statement at an Arutz Sheva conference in Jerusalem in 2018 that has resurfaced with renewed relevance in the current geopolitical climate. Israel National News reports that Hegseth told conference attendees:

“1917 was a miracle, 1948 was a miracle, 1967 was a miracle, 2017 the declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel was a miracle, and there is no reason why the miracle of the reestablishment of the Temple on the Temple Mount is not possible. I do not know how it would happen. You do not know how it would happen. But I know that it could happen.”

Consequently, the most urgent question is not what happens next in Jerusalem. It is whether your own character is sealed into the truth that will stand when every earthly foundation shakes.
